About Stacey De Souza
Stacey was awarded a BA in Political Science from McGill University in Montreal in 2011. She went on to attain a First Class LLB from Queen Mary University of London in 2015, before graduating from the University of Law (Bloomsbury) with distinction in 2016.
Having attained 95% in the family law paper in 2016, Stacey received a prize from the family law organisation Resolution; on receipt of which she remarked: “This prize means a lot. It feels wonderful to have my passion for family law recognised but it is also very reassuring to have my decision to pursue a career in this area of law confirmed.”
After a one-week work experience placement with Josiah-Lake Gardiner in 2015, Stacey was offered a role as a Paralegal with the firm in the Summer of 2016. Her intelligence, confidence and love for the practice area led to her being offered a training contract with effect from 1 February 2017. Stacey qualified as a Solicitor in August 2018.
Stacey advises on all aspects of the financial and children matters that arise from relationship breakdown. She adopts a collaborative and amicable approach where possible but does not hesitate to litigate when necessary. She also continues to assist David Josiah-Lake and Rebecca Gardiner with their cases.
Stacey is a Supervisor at the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre where she was once a Student Advisor. She is also a member of Resolution and the Black Solicitors Network
